Webinar on - Post COVID : Upgrading teaching and learning through technology

Today I have attended a webinar on "Post COVID : Upgrading teaching and learning through technology". It was organized by Government arts college-Bayad. Expert speaker was Dr.Dilip Barad from MKBU.
He shares his views on post COVID  learning and teaching through technology.

In future it will be hard to get a job because of the effect of COVID. There will be uncertainty about the education and jobs because there will not be any surety of jobs  in future.

To learn through technology is still hard for 75% teachers and students . Government providing tablets to students and also giving free  NAMO Wi-Fi though very few colleges are teaching through technology.
Suppose after COVID -19  also education will be online for every field. So every teachers and students will have to learn  how to use technology in teaching.

Here upgrading means reforming, improving, new techniques and technology enhancement, modernization ....

So here is another question is why upgrading?
Answer is this is a modern era. Young generation likes to spend time and be active with social media. This is the era of technology. It will be very helpful for tomorrow. It will bring education system from isolation to  collaborative learning...from active learning to interactieve learning...from users to contributors....

It will be student centric rather than teacher centric. Teachers can be more interactive with students by technology. Technology brings us from behaviourism to cognitive and social constructivism. It is a huge continuous change to new and different things becoming important. Learning through technology will give students what they want. It is a chain by which teachers can know what a student need and how they can provide it to them.

21st century is a century of technology and it will bring digital revolution. There is a difference between data, wisdom and knowledge. What we have is data but what is inside of us,what we really know is our knowledge. For example Google is a source of data but not of knowledge. Actual knowledge of us is that what we know and what we learn from it. So technology  bring us from digital immigrants to digital natives and to digital wisdom.

To learn  by hearing is most important today.  In ancient time teacher speaks only and students listen what a teacher says. There was not pen and paper though they had knowledge. Now the source of listening is social media and technology by which student can learnt. There are so many application and Television channels on that education programs are available. It is helpful to improve hearing power of students.
