One night at the call center is written by Chetan Bhagat. Here is some important points which we can find during reding the novel.

Q- Comment on narrative structure of the novel on@tcc. Compare with that life of Pi.

◆Narrative structure

One night at the call center is controversial novel. Narrative structure of the novel , in which we can  find dream sequence. There is a dream or real meeting with God  the narrator also does not can understand it.
The novel began by Chetan Bhagat himself that he was in train from Kanpur to Delhi and he meet with one lady who told a story to him. So he narrate it by the protagonist Shyam.  Here is a frame narration.
Unknown  Lady->Chetan Bhagat->Shyam->Reader.
It become problematic  also because it took different type of explain. If we compare it with Yann Martel's Life of Pi,there is also same narrative structure.

◆Experience with God

In both of the novel,there is an experience with God. In On@tcc all six characters have call from God . In Life of Pi he also feel presence of God on Iceland who save him.

Here the narration on Life of Pi is better than On@tcc . This make able to getting awards which Chetan Bhagat's narration have not.
At last the writer of both of the novel become confused about the narration  that  how they present the presence of God? Story teller leave it on the writer that he have to mentioned the presence of God or not.

 Popular literature commonly lacks a sustained plot, worked out with close regard to cause and effect.The popular romances lay their stress chiefly on incident and adventure or simple intrigue, and set forth only the more familiar and accepted moral teachings.For all these reasons they have come to be regarded chiefly as the literature of children; a natural result, perhaps, of the fact that they originated largely in the childhood of civilization or among the simple peoples in more advanced ages.It does not raise or answer abstract questions; it assumes that man knows what he needs to know in order to live.

The idea of God is an example of popular literature. Lack of spirituality which shows  the people's mind set today. They have no trust in God and they lost their spiritual strength.
There is in all the characters life they face real  problem not abstract one. They face that type of problems which is faced by the young generation of India. They feel more challenging things around them.

Some of new ideas are also of popular literature. At last  Priyanka  has not care for mother and she thought about her life and desire more. While most of the  daughter will think about mother but she doesn't do that. Another person was Military Uncle who was a  rigid man , at last he understands the young generation and the life style of them. So this is the new idea.

Q- What do you understand by self -help book? Is it a self -help book? Illustrate.

◆Self -help book
It mean when you have questions and you have to gave answer honestly. It is for solving personal problems . It plays very vital role in developing social concept of disease  in 20th century. So ordinary people acquire a language for describing some of complex and ineffable feacher of emotion and behavioral life.
It is based on human mind and behavior. It is helpful for increase self awareness.

In the novel One night at the call center  author asked three questions and requested to reader to give answer honestly.

Another thing that God give four main idea for self help. 1)Intelligence 2)Imagination
3)Self confidence 4) Failure. It is helpful for to know self and reality of life. How much we are honest with self it can be known by it. It shows that every person have dark side but the people always like to overlook it rather than face it. Your inner voice always gives you right suggestion.

Q- How far can this novel be categorized as cyberpunk?

Cyberpunk is a literary genre. It is a sub genre of sci-fi(Science fiction).

◆Facing problem in life

In the novel One night at the call center all the characters have problems with cyber environment. All the calls, ringing ,FM radio etc have some problems and this give them frustration. All the characters have some personal problems in their life. They also face problem by Bug. Vroom have some fear which shows dystopian ideas. There is a corporation control by Bakshi and multinational companies.

◆Lose their morality

All the characters lose morality . Vroom and Esha , Priyanka and Shyam face problem of break up. Vroom' s parents also fight with each other and have no moral value of marriage life. Radhika' s husband Anuj also cheat her.  Bakshi was aslo blackmailed by Vroom and  Shyam . They lost their moral value and misused the opportunity .
