Analysis on I.A. Richards esaay

I.A. Richards wrote essay about a Figurative language. In this he also explain about 3 poems use of metaphors and tenors .


My view on one song of bollywood which is also explain metaphors and rhymes in it.

Song: suraj Hua Maddham
Lyrics:Sameer and Anil Pandey
Movie: Kabhi khushi Kabhi gum.

'Suraj hua Maddham ,chand jalne laga
Aasmaan ye hai , kyoon pighalne  laga

Main thehra raha ,zamin chalne lagi
Dhadka yeh dil, sans thamne lagi.'



In this first stanza we find its misunderstanding. In this song lover describe his situation after to fall in love with his beloved. He explaine that how all things would changed for him.

Problem in understanding lyrics.

1)
Suraj hua Maddham,chand  jalne laga.

But how can we understand that moon is burning and sun is becoming cold?
Another line explain that :
Sky is also liquefied.How can it possible?

2)In next line
'Me thehra raha zamin chalne lagi'

How can it becomes we don't know
It is just an imagination nothing else.

3)In last
'Sagar hua pyasa rat jagne lagi
Sholo ke dil me bhi aag jalne lagi.'

In this last stanza again there is only illusion that ocean becomes thirsty and how can night also vigil?

All this lines explain only fancy thought that fire in heart of ember but how it is possible?
There is question that Fire has heart?

Poets intension:
In this song poet only imagine the natural changes . These all things never becomes in real life.
Lover explain his feelings towards his beloved but this all natural changes which he describe, will never become true.

In I.A. Richards essay he says two uses of language
Scientific use And Emotive use
But in this song we can not find any use of it. It creates only misunderstanding and imagination.


So in this bollywood song we can not find any true line . In  this song we can not find any real  situation.
