Similarities between character of Frankenstein and Victor

Frankenstein was written by Mary Shelley . In this novel we can find some similarity between the character of victor  and monster.

1)Both was motherless
There was absence of motherly figure in both Victor's and Monster's life. Victor lost his mother to giving birth of his brother William . Same like Monster has no mother.

2) Both have father
In this novel Victor has father . Also Monster was created by Victor so Victor was become his father.

3) Desire for partner
In this Monster has desire for lady Monster . He also required  that he had a desire for someone's company . When he read paradise lost he finds that Adam has companion Eve . So he has also requirement of lady character.

Victor has also desire for love of Elizabeth his beloved . He also wants to her collaboration with his all step of life . So he wants to marry with Elizabeth.

4)Desire for family.
Monster was hated by society and he has no family also. So he required love of family members. He felt happiness when he saw De Lacey  family and wished that he had a family.

As same in the end victor lost his whole family his mother , father, brother and his beloved. So as like this we can say both have requirements of family.

5) Both also despise themselves for their disastrous action.
The isolation began with Victor's decision to separate himself from the rest of society when he become enthralled with his scientific research and experiment.

As same for Monster he detached himself and becomes a frantic outside when he realizes his appearance only drives those who cares for most further away from him.

6) Victor and Monster both being very resentful.
Another likeness between Victor and the Monster is them both  being very resentful . The Monster shows his dark side when he decides to demolished the cottages house the only thing that expressed in him his affectionate human like feelings.

Moreover victor shows same anger when he refuses and rejects the attempt to connect and understand the life of his creation. Anger and strive for revenge between the two main character was same.

7) Both have crave for a continuous stream of knowledge.
In early in novel Victor is craving for more and more knowledge thus he leaves his large estate and his love Elizabeth. As  a result he gaining knowledge of creation of Monster.

When the Monster is hiding in the De Lacey family house he steal foods and by doing this he realizes he is bringing great distress to the human so he stops stealing . He also learn the english language and have a desire for knowledge about his creation and his creator.

8) Relationship with nature
Both Victor and the Monster use nature as a hide way or a safe haven when they are feeling as if they have nowhere else to go . Both find comfort in nature and thus develop Avery strong relationship with themselves. Monster feelings frightened towards towns people and living with nature . Victor uses nature to escape from his problem and the rest of his thoughts after the death of his brother William and friend Justine.

As like this there has same goal feed for similar pain and feel the some loneliness,they both remorse and isolated by society abandoned by their childhood figures driven by rage victor and Monster may be more alike than we can simply prove.
